Once you've created a Time Period Form and double-clicked on the form, you are ready to configure the form in the Time Period Form Editor.
Properties
Time Period Forms have the following properties:
|
Logical description of the form being created. |
|
On initial load, the Interval Type setting in conjunction with the Period Start Intervals will determine the total amount of time periods to load on the form. The time range can be changed after the initial load from the web front end. |

On initial load, the Interval Type setting in conjunction with the Period Start Intervals will determine the total amount of time periods to load on the form. This parameter will determine how far back, or how many time periods to display based on the different interval types that can be selected. The time range can be changed after the initial load from the web front end. |
Tabs
Forms work on the concept of creating separate “tabs” and associating measures to the different tabs. These “tabs” can be used to group/separate measure entry when capturing data via the Flow web front end.
Think of tabs as performing a similar function to worksheets in a spreadsheet workbook.
To create a new tab, right-click in the "Tabs" area and select New Tab.
While you've got the right-click context menu open, notice all the options available.
|
Adds more tabs to the current form configuration. |
|
Change the name that will appear for this tab/section in the form when data is being entered by a user. |
|
Delete a tab from a form. You cannot delete a tab if it contains measures - you will first need to delete all contained measures. |
|
Moves the entire tab and all its contained measures up the list of tabs that you have configured for the form. Moving a tab up in the configuration results in moving the tab header to the left in the form that is rendered in a browser. |
|
Moves the entire tab and all its contained measures down the list of tabs that you have configured for the form. Moving a tab down in the configuration results in moving the tab header to the right in the form that is rendered in a browser. |
|
Refreshes the form configuration so that any changes made in the model/toolbox reflect in the form configuration. |
To add measures to a tab, you need to drag the measure from the Model onto the tab folder. You can also drag an entire metric onto the tab folder, which will then add all the measures contained by the metric to that specific tab.
Unlike charts, a form can contain measures of different interval types. On the front end, if measures of multiple interval types have been added, the user will have the option to select which interval type they wish to enter data for.
Once you've added measures to a tab, your form configuration will look something like:
You are not restricted in terms of what retrieval types you can add to a form configuration. However, while you may add Aggregated, Calculated, and Replicated measures to a form, one cannot modify these measure values from the Form front end.
Only Manually Entered measures and Retrieved measures may be entered/modified with the Form front end. The other types of measures may be added for visualization purposes only.
Form Measure Properties
If you select one of the Measures added to the Form, you'll note that it has the following property:
|
Description (Column Heading) of the measure that must be displayed in the form when opened from the front end. |
