The General Configuration of a Chart in Flow

This article will be updated in the near future! In the meanwhile, if the following information is insufficient, contact support@flow-software.com.

While each Chart type provides unique visualization capabilities (refer to the individual Chart articles for information on each of them), there are certain common properties that are applicable to them all.

These are found in the General tab of the Chart Configuration Editor.  The General tab is used to define the general layout of a Table/Chart as well as the Title, and the default Period to display.

For a table-type report, the General Properties look like:

The General tab consists of Table, Title, Period and Indicators.

he following properties may be modified with regard to the Period of a report:

  • Calendar
This sets the Calendar Context for this report.  If you've added more than one calendar, you'll need to select the correct calendar for this report.  By defauly, the Default Calendar is selected when creating a chart.
  • Interval Type

This is the interval type that is used in conjunction with the 3 Period properties to determine the default time range for which information must be displayed when the chart is first open.  Possible options are all of Flow's Interval Types.

The default time range also applies when a chart is linked to a Dashboard - the timestamp of the Dashboard will be the End Date used in the default time range.

  • Period
Used to configure the default time range for which information must be displayed when the chart is first open.  Possible options are discussed later
  • Period Start Intervals
The number of intervals (as configured in Interval Type) from which the default time range must commence.  Works in conjunction with the selected Period option
  • Period End Intervals
The number of intervals (as configured in Interval Type) until which the default time range must end.  Works in conjunction with the selected Period option. You can only display more than one interval into the future if you have Projected measures.
  • Auto Refresh(s)
The duration, in seconds, that will elapse before this chart refreshes itself in the browser / any dashboard it is linked to
