For this tutorial, we are going to install Flow as a "stand-alone" system on a single machine.
Note: Please make sure you have already installed Microsoft SQL Server, preferably as the "default instance".
To get started with Flow, everything you need is contained in a single Windows Installer file (.msi). The name of the installer file is "Flow 7.0.x.x.msi", where the 7.0.x.x is the build number. The build number relates to a specific release, which can be confirmed on the Flow download page.
Note: Please ensure to read the readme file before attempting to install Flow. Flow requires prerequisite components that need to be installed before running the Flow installer package. Also, ensure the Operating System is up to date with the necessary Windows Updates.
Result
The aim of the tutorial is to successfully install the Flow Bootstrap and configuration tool. The installation log can be used to fault-find and diagnose any issues that might have occurred during the installation.
