What settings can I configure for my Flow Server? Can I change Colors to match my Corporate Identity?

The configuration of the Flow Server is done using the Flow Config tool, in the Deployment Tab, by double-clicking on the Flow Server node.

General Properties

The general configuration of the Flow Server consists of the following properties:

  • Name
The name of the Flow Server instance.
  • Description
The description for the Flow Server instance.

This is where you set the theme of the Flow Server.  A theme consists of colors and images.

The colors configuration is used to set the theme colors of the Flow Server, which may be referenced on charts to ensure consistency and corporate brand identity in your reports.

Changing any of the theme colors will automatically update all charts where the theme colors were referenced.

Flow currently supports a “Light” theme, which is the default, as well as a “Dark” theme.  The themes can be changed by selecting and then right clicking on “Standard” in the themes list and resetting to either “Light” or “Dark”.

Note that resetting will overwrite any custom colors that were configured.

The following images show a Flow dashboard in the "Light" and the "Dark" themes

The Flow Server also allows you to customize the images that are displayed in the navigation bar and the welcome screen. The “Icon” is used in the navigation bar and it is recommended to be a 30 x 30 pixel image. The “Logo” image is used on the welcome screen and it is recommended to use an image that is 100 pixels high.

The properties configuration is used to set Flow Server settings that are used during run time, the Flow Server needs to be restarted for these settings to take effect. The Flow Server has the following settings:

  • Port
The port setting specifies the TCP/IP port on which to host the web portal.
Note: Always ensure that the firewall is configured to allow http/s traffic on the configured port.
