The “Packaging” Dashboard

Now that your Flow System has a few more measures, associated with events, let’s build a dashboard that presents this information to the Packaging Line 1 Manager.

Open the “Packaging Event Report” you created earlier. Expand the “Filler 1 Run” event and add the “Filler 1 Efficiency (%)” and “Filler 1 Quality (%)” measures to it …

Create a new “Packaging Dashboard” in the “Packaging” report folder. Open it and add the “Packaging Event Report” to the canvas. Resize the panel to 9 x 3 blocks.

Deploy your new dashboard to the “Dashboard Template” in the Deployment View and open it …

Your Packaging Line 1 Manager is particularly interested in the hourly good production, the “Day to Date” good production and the quality. Let’s create “widgets” for these three measures and add them to the dashboard. Drag the “Filler 1 Good Production (bottles)” measure onto the “Packaging” report folder. Flow will create a “widget” report definition for you …

Open the new widget report and set its definition as follows:

Create another two widgets, one using the “Filler 1 Good Production DTD (bottles)” measure, and one using the “Filler 1 Quality (%)” measure. Deploy all these widgets to the “Widget Template” in the Deployment View and add them to the “Packaging Dashboard” canvas …

We have space on our dashboard for one more report. Let’s create a time-based report for “Filler 1” that shows our production and efficiency for each hour, for each product. Create a new hourly report in the “Packaging” report folder. Open it and create the following report definition …

Notice the “DTD” measure has been placed in the “Cumulative Aggregations” Day box for the “Good Production” report measure.  This will add a column at the end of the report to display the “DTD” value.

Notice the “Context” property of each report measure. Even though you are creating an hourly (time-based) report, because these measures are associated with an event, you can “slice” the report by the Event Attribute context.

Add this report to your “Packaging Dashboard” …
